Keep Tori's page open as a tab on your computer because that is where you will find all the links. For example, you won't be able to get to the next page and freebie from my page but if you look back at her page you will see the next one is Hippo Hooray for 2nd Grade and see the link. Enjoy and I hope this is helpful! My freebie will be Simon's Snowy Syllables which is a fun way to have your students practice breaking words up into syllables! Here is what the cover looks like. If you click the image you can head over to my Facebook Page . Look for the Facebook Hop tab!
Here's a shot of one of the pages. I purposely used some words that were not compound words. My second graders find it way too easy to break words like doorknob into syllables. What they need is some practice with other words like winter.
I also have something new - a Valentine's Day Writing Prompt Collection. Nine different Valentine's Day themed writing prompts are included along with checklists for student accountability. The checklists include things like "My printing is neat" (an area we need to work on in my room), "All my sentences are on topic" and items for capitalization and punctuation. I also includeed both Handwriting without Tears style and regular lined paper. Pages have cute but ink-saving black and white borders. I used these with my second graders and aligned it to the second grade CCSS but you could use it with first and third graders too.
Some of the prompt topics include:
Who would you choose as your secret Valentine?
Should we keep Valentine's Day as a holiday?
Response to "Arthur's Valentine"
