Busy Week's Five for Friday

Phew ! It has been a busy week! I was so exhausted yesterday when I got home I had to lie down and fell asleep for an hour. Got up, did a couple things, and went to sleep again. I do want to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching though for Five For Friday! Click on the pic below to head over and see who else linked up.

My Five!

#1 I am so delighted to be taking part in the Super Sleuths Blog Hop! Carla at Comprehension Connection has the first stop. If you head there and check it out, you get all the details and explanation of how it works. Basically, reading specialists, literacy teachers and more joined up to bring you some information about teaching language arts and each stop has a freebie for you to try with your class. Then at the end, there is a fun giveaway! If you click on the image below, you can head to the first stop. I checked out most of the stops already and there are some fun ideas!

#2 My mom and I went to see David Sedaris this week. He is one of my all time favorite authors! I had a blast and even though I had to be up super late on a work night, it was worth it! His latest book, Exploring Diabetes with Owls is so clever and funny!

# 3 It wouldn't be a Friday without a couple Bailey pics. I found this one of him from when he was about 7 weeks old - the first time I met him at the breeder's. Then I caught him in a similar pose tonight and grabbed a pic.

He is so darn cute!

#4 It was a tough start to September for me for reasons I won't get into; but sometimes I think- there must be a reason everything happens the way it does. This group of kids I have this year are terrific. Sure there are challenges, some really big, but the general "mood" or whatever you may call it of the group is sweet, loving, and expressive. Last time I was out sick, on the day I came back I got a big hug from a boy that I didn't expect, and today for example, I went to a 25 minute meeting and as soon as I got back this girl jumped up and gave me a hug. I don't always have groups like this and I don't think the last two years brought any kiddos who gave such "warm fuzzies". I am lucky to have this group, this year in particular. Thank goodness!

#5 I have been signed up with Educents since they started and grabbed a bunch of good deals from them. I lucked out and got to join in a curriculum bundle this week. My synonym and homophones game pack (3 games) are included in their 3-5 bundle. My games are great for grades 1-3; especially those tricky homophones. There are TONS of other products in the bundle - in fact over $120 worth and they are available for $29.99. Some of my favorite authors are included like Monica Schroeder, Fern Smith, and more! If you want to check it out, click on the pic below to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by tonight! Have a restful evening!
