Antonyms, Synonyms, and Homophones, Oh My!

I love working on antonyms, synonyms, and homophones. I am always looking for new ways to teach them. In my classroom I have this fun book: Stop and Go, Yes and No: What is an Antonym by Bryan Cleary. It is a fun jumping off point.

Of course, once he realized these books were going to be a hit he came out with these terrific books about synonyms and homophones.

Pitch and Throw, Grasp and Know: What is a Synonym?

How Much Can a Bare Bear Bear?

I also realized this cute book from my childhood could be worked into an antonym lesson! They are also the same Fred and Ted who are in Big Dog, Little Dog and Fred and Ted Take a Road Trip.

I also found this cool poster on Pinterest but unfortunately it doesn't link to anything, so I don't know who made it.

Same with this handy synonyms anchor chart!

Last year I made up a few activities to help my class with antonyms, synonyms and homophones. The covers are below and if you like, click on the images to get a closer look at them at my Teachers Pay Teachers store. The Summer Antonym Fun is only 80 cents!  If you get to the bottom of this post, there may just be a freebie for you!
