New Spring Fraction Task Cards

Hey all! I just finished up my first ever set of task cards. I decided, since we will be working on fractions next week, to do a set of fraction task cards. They include halves, thirds, fourths, and sixths and I used Thistlegirl's super cute chick and bunny clipart! You can see it in detail at my Teacher's Notebook Shop!

Here are a few fun spring books. You can learn more about them at amazon by clicking on the images!

It's Monday again! How did that happen?

Also, you can put this in your files to take out next year, but I have a Leprechaun Graphing freebie for you! Click here to get it from my tpt store. When I printed mine out there was a little glitch, but I hope I fixed it!

The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs

Greetings all! It's almost Friday! This has been a really long week for me, I don't know how you all feel!

One thing that lifted my spirits today was the fact that The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs featured my little ol' This is My Week Form on their site. I really love having my students sum up their day as an end of day activity. They also all really seem to want to read their sentences out loud to us. Plus, I often find out little (or big) things I didn't know about like "I did not have a good recess" or "I'm so excited . I'm going skiing this weekend". (Some statements sneak in like that last one that aren't really about that day but I let them slide. Their classmates get to learn about each other from it, too. Check out all of the other resources featured at The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs!

Also don't forget to check out the awesome prizes at my 100+ Follower Giveaway that JUST launched (Yippee!). Click the link below to go there. Hang in there, almost the weekend!

Look at both and choose which one to enter or both if you like! (PS: I dont know why the link to my geometry pack a different color, argh. If anyone knows, please let me know!)

Saint Patrick's Day Books

Hi all! Here is a last minute idea or two for St. Patrick's Day Books that I love. The images link to information about them on amazon.

First, Fin M'coull  the Giant of Knockmanny Hill by the amazing Tomie dePaola.
How can you go wrong with him, right? This is based on a legend about a giant and his wife who find a clever way to trick another giant, the famed Cuchillan. And yes, Knockmanny is a real place in Ireland. I spent some time there and can hear in my head that Irish accent saying "Knockmanny".

St. Patrick's Day in the Morning by another amazing author, Eve Bunting
A friend gave this to me. Jamie wants to participate in the St. Patrick's Day parade and festivities but his family says he's too little. Jamie has his own little march and adventure, making for a cute story. It's hard to find this one but amazon has some copies and the used ones in good condition can cost you less than $2.35. This also might be at your local library!

Do you have any Advice - Books for Kids not Living with both Parents

Do you have any suggestions for read aloud for second graders in which there are kids who do not live with both their mom and dad, or just live with dad, or neither? I am trying to be sensitive to students who live without their mothers and every single picture book I see seems to have a mom and dad. :-)

Someone was kind enough to mention Mother for Choco to me which I hadn't heard of. It looks cute but says it's for 3-6 year olds. Has anyone read it? Do you think second graders would not think it's too "young" for them. The link to it on amazon is below if you'd like to see. She also mentioned maybe Patricia Palacco but wasn't sure which book(s). Let me know if you think of anything!
